A disciple of Jesus is a worshiper, family member, servant, steward, and witness. These identities are not random or isolated but are unified in the person of Christ. So, growing as a whole disciple is growing more into Christ, and becoming more “like Christ.”
The Whole Disciple is how everything we do at The Summit works together to grow disciples to do what Jesus sent us to do– Make Disciples Who Make Disciples Who Make Disciples
Jesus didn't begin his ministry by preaching to crowds. He began by calling individuals to follow him. Our ministries do the same, inviting people to become followers of Jesus.
Admit that you have disobeyed God
God made all humans to know, love, and obey him. But the Bible says all of us have “turned to our own way” (Isaiah 53:6) instead of God’s way, and the consequence of our disobedience is death (Romans 6:23). Admit that you have disobeyed God and earned the punishment of death.
Believe in Jesus
Jesus, the Son of God, never disobeyed God. He died to take the punishment we deserved, and he raised from the dead to give us life forever. Believe that Jesus lived and died in your place,, and resurrected to give you his place of life. Trust that Jesus did everything needed to save you. The Bible says “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
Commit to walk with Jesus
If you believe in Jesus, now, he calls you to live your whole life with him and for him. Disciples of Jesus commit to do whatever he tells you to do and go wherever he tells you to go. No matter where he sends you, he will be with you always (Matthew 28:20).
Tell Someone
If you just believed in Jesus and committed your life to him for the first time, we want to
The second step is growing as a disciple. Followers of Jesus embrace the five identities of a disciple, seeking to grow in each of them.
As worshipers, disciples of Jesus seek to know, love, and obey God above all else.
As family members, disciples of Jesus live with the local church as family.
As servants, disciples of Jesus give themselves for the good of others.
As witnesses, disciples of Jesus strive to proclaim Christ in word and deed
As stewards, disciples of Jesus manage God’s gifts for God’s purposes.
We send every member to join God where he is at work. Go and make disciples to your neighbor, your city and the world.
